Whether it was the quality of the coffee, the brand recognition, the price point relative to our African coffees or the mere fact that they were direct trade Guatemalans, there is no more Stumptown to be had here until Thursday (except by the cup).
The retail bags of Stumptown we had sold out by Sunday morning. To put this in perspective, if we exclude Black Cat sales, the Stumptown single origins outsold the other 8 coffees from Intelligentsia and Barismo combined.
Which means our Stumptown experiment will continue for a little while longer. We want to see if this holds up.
We've just put in our second order, this time for both the El Injerto coffees - the Bourbon, which we had last week, and the Pacamara, which was just released (unfortunately the La Concepcion has sold out for the season). We've also ordered some Hairbender for retail sale. Those will arrive sometime Thursday. A new Costa Rica and a Colombia are coming out this week and we may order those to arrive before Thanksgiving. Depends on if Intelligentsia is releasing any new South Americans this week.
We've also ordered more the Mexico Oaxaca from Intelligentsia as well as the usual Black Cat, house blend and French roast. We're holding off on ordering more Africans for now - we've still got a stock of Kenyas and Ethiopias that are six days off roast and very vibrant.
The remaining Barismo coffees are about the cleanest cups we've had that didn't come from a Cup of Excellence auction. These coffees are extremely refined, crisp and clear. Brazil fans should especially enjoy the Santa Barbara. We'll give you brewing tips as these coffees perform a little differently than what we usually offer.
As a final note, if you've got a specific coffee you want to serve for Thanksgiving, let us know by Thursday as we've got to get next week's orders in by Friday due to the holiday.
It's good news that you have more "cafe do Brasil" It is great brewed with the Abid! Viva a Santa Barbara!
