Expand your coffee knowledge and improve your espresso technique with an assist from Aldo Coffee Co.'s "Best Baristas in Pittsburgh" and the Mid Atlantic Barista finalists and winner.
We offer coffee tasting classes and home barista classes for the coffee enthusiast; and professional classes for baristas, coffee bars, and restaurants who wish to improve coffee service revenues. We even offer Barista Competition Training.
Whatever your level of knowledge, increase your coffee/espresso appreciation and skill with us.
PUBLIC CLASSES:
Introductory and Advanced Coffee Tasting and Cupping The next "Coffee Tasting 101" tasting class is Saturday, December 6 at 1pm. Our next advanced cupping class will be on Saturday, November 22 at 1pm. Class size limited, register early. Free but must register here.
Learn Latte Art Learn the basics and practice pouring beautiful latte art in the cup. Class size is limited to four participants. Cost is $100 for a 2 hour group session. Next class Wednesday, December 3, 2008 register by email here.
Barista Skills Espresso "101", coffee origins, tasting exercises, the dynamics of pulling great shots, milk texturing and an introduction to latte art. Cost: $100 for a 2.5 hour group session. PROFESSIONAL/TRADE CLASSES:
Culinary Espresso and Coffee for Restaurants: We offer espresso training and coffee consultation on-site with your restaurant's own equipment and coffee. We can also train on single-cup brewing methods for restaurants looking to enhance their coffee srevice (as noted in the Post-Gazette). Email us for more information
Professional Barista Training: Next class is January 14, 2008, $150 per person for a three hour group session. Or, by private appointment, which is usually preferred for an independent shop. Great training on making quality coffee and espresso drinks for new stores. Prerequisite: Six months barista experience or our Barista Skills training class. Email us for more information
Barista Competition Training: Aldo Coffee is home to the current Mid Atlantic Regional Barista Champion, several United States Barista Championship regional finalists, national competitors and even a certified USBC judge, and we can help you train with the rules and performance techniques in mind.
