99.9% of our customers seem like happy, well-adjusted, friendly people.
Then there's that 0.1% that makes a small business owner want to run screaming from ever having to face the public again.
EDIT: There was an incident. There used to be a post here about it. Melanie asked me to take it down.
Suffice it to say that we're not here to be abused or taken advantage of by anyone. We reward the behaviors and customers we believe will get us to where we want to be with this business. And we'll disincentivize those behaviors that run counter to that. And fire customers who insist on behaving that way.
POSTSCRIPT: Thing is, other than that one incident, we had a lot of fun today and so did our customers. It was a great day. Just what it's supposed to be - merry, giddy, happy. It's much easier on your neighbors to go with the flow than to try to make oneself the most important thing in the room.
The old adage that "the customer is always right" is nothing but bullshoot. I remember while working at the Sheraton Station Square as a night auditor a "lady" demanded that I stop the trains from going by...Did the hussy think that I was going to tie myself to the tracks?????
