5th Anniversary Week Special #3: Aida's Grand Reserve -- Pay What You Feel

We were expecting this amazing coffee to come in yesterday but it just got here, so we're going to extend the offer through tomorrow. Remember we're here today until 4:00pm and tomorrow from 8:30am-1:00pm.  We just brewed some to get the dose right.  It's right.

First, a little about the coffee itself.  Aida Batelle's coffees (Finca Kilimanjaro, Finca Los Alpes and Finca Mauritania) have a stellar reputation within the industry and with coffee conoisseurs.  The El Salvador Grand Reserve is a special blend of the best of all three.  It's $37.50 per 12oz bag (our cost including shipping).  We have four three to sell.  The other two are for drip brews today and tomorrow for our third and final 5th anniversary drink special. 

So here's how it'll work.  If you want a cup, specify Abid or press pot.  Then try it. After you've tried it, pay us what you want. A quarter. Ten dollars. Whatever.  You decide. We won't argue, although don't be surprised if we ask your opinion.

Combined with our traditional New Year's Day free mimosa and hangover soup (West African Peanut & Chicken), the start of 2010 should be pretty tasty.

  • George Howell's Terroir (Boston)
    George's Coffee Connection was specialty coffee in New England for years. Then he sold out to the dark empire. Now he's back with Terroir, identifying and promoting single source coffees. No stores yet, only whole bean sales.
  • The Roasterie (Kansas City)
    Reginal powerhouse coffee buyer, roaster, trainer and local retail chain in KC, Missouri.
  • Ninth St. Espresso (NYC)
    King of espresso on Manhattan's Lower East Side.
  • Gimme! Coffee (Ithaca/NYC)
    Gimme! was among the first Eastern shops to rival the best in the PNW. Born in Ithaca, they're now in Brooklyn, Chelsea Market and LES.
  • Simon's (Boston)
    Cambridge, MA, used to be home to Jaime VanSchyndel, barista provocateur. Not sure if they're still what they were when Jaime was on bar, but it's likely still the best cup in Boston.
