Thanksgiving Week Hours and News

Here's what's going on next few days...

Tuesday:  New beans from Stumptown arriving via FedEx.  Costa Rica Montes de Oro "Honeyed" coffee and Colombia El Jordan.  And more Hairbender.  We also bagged some of the La Verdad Guatemala Ixil Trapichitos in half pound bags at an intro price of only $6 (regularly $7.50).

UPDATE: Only the El Jordan came in.  The other two are on a FedEx truck somewhere. Hopefully they show up on Friday.

Wednesday:  Regular hours, open 'til 6pm.  New Intelligentsia beans arriving via UPS, including Peru Cruz del Sur, along with Black Cat, House and Organic French Roast.

These are in.  Yay UPS.

Thursday: As is our Thanksgiving tradition, Melanie and Rich will be behind the counter from 8am-Noon.  No panini or soup.

Friday: Regular hours, 6:30 7:30am-6:00pm. 

Sidewalks:  Please note that we're not entirely sure what's going on with the sidewalks today or tomorrow.  They ripped up the entire walk up the street in front of La Pomponee yesterday.  Ours is marked for where to dig.  We've been told that if they are digging they'll only do it in front of one door at a time so you can still get in and out.  The project is supposedly only supposed to take a day.  Wish we could do something about it, but not our call.

As a personal aside, we're hosting Thanksgiving at our house with some friends and new acquaintances and a theme: What did you always want to eat for Thanksgiving but were never given the option?  Best we know at the moment, the table will include:  beef pho, manicotti, lamb/eggplant tangine, chilaquiles con salsa verde, Ghanaian yam balls, masaledar sem (spicy green beans), guacamole, two kinds of empanadas (kilebasa and kraut, spinach and cheese), mushroom marsala and a pie or three.  There's more we don't know about yet.  And Frank's mom is bringing turkey drumsticks just to keep tradition.

If you're a barista or roaster with no place to go for the holiday, drop a line and invite yourself over.  Dinner is at 5-ish pm and there will be plenty of food.  We'll send you directions.
