We'll be open on Memorial Day from 7:30am-1:00pm. We will have our full array of pastries and desserts but not be serving lunch.
We hope everyone enjoys the parade. As usual, anyone caught using the bathrooms without making a purchase will be bludgeoned with a hot portafilter.
Okay, I understand about the bathroom thing. Really. But it would be so nice for all of the merchants with public bathrooms to agree to say, "And if you need to use a bathroom while you're downtown, feel free to use ours."

Our staff never forgave us for letting the public use the bathrooms and tables without a purchase during the first Ultra Party.
It's a different era, a different culture of entitlement. We wish it weren't so.

Sigh.
Ours are not public bathrooms. They are our bathrooms, private and there for the convenience of our staff and customers who deserve clean, well-kept rest facilities.
We installed them, we supply them, our staff cleans them, we pay for the plumbing and carpenter (door and lock) issues. I do not have a janitorial staff.
We have had many issues of non-customers off the street, making a huge mess, stealing supplies, breaking the doors. A few spoil it for the many. It is a bigger problem than people would realize.
