A well-known, highly-respected coffee professional from New York has been corresponding with us to come and visit. A half dozen emails back and forth. Pittsburgh is mentioned several times in our outgoing emails. Our email signature includes our mailing address.
Regardless of how well we think we've communicated, when the appointed time for our Friday afternoon meeting comes, the worldly New Yorker is sitting at this cafe and thinking, "I must be in the wrong place."
We assume this person figured since the Williamsburg/Greenpoint section of Brooklyn has great coffeehouses like Gimme!, Grumpy, El Beit and Oslo, we were just another one of the pack.
Hey, if the subway doesn't go there, it must not exist, right?
Is this an indictment of all New Yorkers? I know where you are.

Mike,
Not all NYers. Truth be told, the person in question is a relatively new NYer. But proud to be one.
Still, we're waiting to see how many of you Brooklyn/Manhattanites can find Cranberry in February ;-)
