December 30, 2004.
We didn't have a sign.
We didn't have a working espresso machine.
We didn't have a manual grinder.
But we opened anyway.
It got better.

Hey, the espresso machine worked! And another thing we didn't have was the blog (I don't think) Or change for the register. No sign until, what was it, April?
We had Natalie's Christmas tree for decoration, I think that was IT.
I remember Lois and I opening in the morning. We got an order for blended soy chai smoothie with a decaf espresso shot (or something like that) and she and I looked at each other, like, err...., hey, we can do that.
Everything was half price. We still have regulars we met during those half price days.

The blog was the second thing we had after the lease.
Looking through the first posts, you're correct, the Linea did work, although I seem to recall some panic about having to go out on the street with an airpot as that was all we could do at one point.

I looked at the original menu. In four years only ONE person has ever ordered a Flat White. And they weren't even Australian.
