Hillary was on Washington Road this morning. We got a visit from the Secret Service this morning alerting us that she might come in, while they were scoping us out. Hillary was visiting the Obama HQ on the corner of Cedar.
The Secret Service stood guard near our doors as there was quite the crowd gathering. They let in about 25 people, but quite humorously, our State Rep. Matt Smith, who's THE Democrat rock star around here, didn't get in the door fast enough and was left on the street.
Turns out Hillary was running late or something, and just waved to the crowd after leaving the Obama storefront.
Lucky for her we were supplying coffee for the Obama HQ this morning (they've been great customers and we'll miss them when the election's over). So at least she had a good cup before leaving.
But, as the crowd is still here and ordering stuff, we can actually say that a politician helped put money in our pockets. Unfortunately, that might be one of the only times we can say that ;-)
Other than Matt Smith, of course. We don't live in his district and can't vote for Matt, but you can. He's the only candidate of any party we're endorsing for any office. He's good for small biz (and is a frequent customer, so he really does put money in our pocket!), good for the district and good for PA. We've even been told by staunch Republicans that he's pretty darned good at what he does.
Yay for political figures actually giving people the warm fuzzies!
