Quid Pro Quo

Seems some marketing agency called the shop last week to see if we'd be interested in helping promote DVD sales of "Elizabeth 2: Electric Boogaloo".  The barista who took the call figured there was going to be one poster involved and a free copy of the DVD for the staff... so they said, "Sure...".

Facialblotter Today a FedEx box shows up with a ton of posters, a POP display where one can win a DVD and the coup de grace... FACIAL BLOTTERS.

So, after having a discussion with said barista about moral ambiguities and the concept of quid pro quo, we've decided to chip in and post about it here on our blog's highly desirable front page.

But we repeat, it's only because of Cate Blanchett.  And if you really must pry it's especially because of Cate Blanchett in "Bandits".

Btw, although it's Lauren holding the poster, she wasn't the barista in question.  We just used Lauren so she could show off her new 'do.

If you want to win a DVD, the forms are in the ladies room.  You can ask any barista for a poster or a facial blotter while supplies last. Quid pro quo.

  • George Howell's Terroir (Boston)
    George's Coffee Connection was specialty coffee in New England for years. Then he sold out to the dark empire. Now he's back with Terroir, identifying and promoting single source coffees. No stores yet, only whole bean sales.
  • The Roasterie (Kansas City)
    Reginal powerhouse coffee buyer, roaster, trainer and local retail chain in KC, Missouri.
  • Ninth St. Espresso (NYC)
    King of espresso on Manhattan's Lower East Side.
