World Barista Championship Finalists - US Makes It Again

The 2007 US Barista Champion, Heather Perry of Coffee Klatch in San Dimas, CA, made it through the preliminaries.  Her scores were among the top six, putting her in the finals at the WBCs in Tokyo.  The finals will take place while we're all sleeping tonight.

The US has never won the WBCs.  This is also the first time in the eight year history of the event that no Scandanavian baristas made the finals and the first time in the finals for baristas from Brazil and Switzerland.

We're a little bummed that Nik from Croatia didn't make it, but we're happy that Jim Hoffman from the UK made it since we feel we know him a bit through emails, blogs and bulletin board conversations.
