The Brazil Santa Ines Cup of Excellence Winner Is In

BrazilcoeThe Brazil Santa Ines Cup of Excellence is in.  We just received two three pounds from 49th Parallel Roasters in Vancouver, roasted by the incomparable Vince Piccolo.

Like the Panama Esmeralda, we'll be selling it by press pot only for $5.00 per cup.

It is a very different coffee than the Esmeralda - more of what might be considered a "connoisseur's cup" in that the flavor highlights are muted, if not challenged, by the fullness and clarity of the cup.

We've been told by pro cuppers that the excellence of the Santa Ines is worth every penny, but that the complexity of this crop when expertly roasted requires a trained palate.

We'll see - we're going to play with some tonight to ensure we're getting what we expect out of the finished product.  If you stop in you might get lucky.

We only have two three pounds of the Santa Ines, but given its appeal will be primarily to coffee geeks, we expect our supply to last for a full week.
