# of Years in Pittsburgh: After spending most of my formative years here I returned triumphant in January 2005 after a five year stint in Chicago.
Favorite coffee/tea beverage: Cappuccinos are tasty. And Yerba Mate. One feels good after drinking it and it comes in a very unique drinking apparatus. (NB - Frank or Rich may serve Yerba Mate on request once we replace our broken French presses - nobody else here much likes the stuff. But you'll get it in a cup. The bombillas would never pass PA Health regs).
Best thing about being a barista: I really enjoy getting to meet new people each day I work and the opportunity to give those people something enjoyable.
Favorite thing to do in the South Hills: Fires in South Park. Trying to decide where to eat and then eating wherever that may be.
Best reason to go downtown: The views from Mt. Washington, the top of the convention center and the upper deck behind home plate at PNC Park as well as the great selection of crazy sandwiches available.
My hidden talent: The ability to endure extreme cold (not enough to qualify as a superpower, though).
The thing friends and co-workers would be most surprised to learn about me: I lead a double life as both barista and youth minister. Those who know me as one are surprised to learn about the other.

That's my boy! We are so proud of him and his wife, Belle Battista, the barista!

Hello Frank,
Thanks for the link! We would love to send you one sample kilo of Canarias--not a very well known yerba, but one we beleive is excellent as espresso (double-pull espresso yerba latte.) Try it with the foofie flavors.
Cheers!
Karl & Marisa
