Many coffeehouses have open mike nights for folk artists and rockers.
But jazz players don't need mikes for vocals. Just an amp. Thus, "Open Amp Night".
It starts next Friday and we hope to do this once a month. We've got a host who will do a bit of playing himself, and will then introduce us to two or three (hopefully) talented jazz soloists, duos or trios.
And no cover.
So with RJ, Tangueros and now Open Amp Night, we've got three Fridays per month with live entertainment. We're still looking for traditional Italian and/or Latin American musicians to fill out our schedule. Any suggestions appreciated.
