It will be live music, coffee, photography, and prize drawings at Aldo Coffee Company on May 7th at 7 pm to benefit Erlin's House, a cause championed by our barista and Mt. Lebanon native Jennie Allshire.
If you've been in the store this week, you've noticed the fantastic,
photography from the region, taken by Jennie who is quite an
accomplished photographer. Her photos tell the story of the wonderful
people and life in the region. The photography is for sale as part of
the event and several pieces are already sold (don't fret, copies are
available).
At 7 pm, we will hold our first official coffee tasting, and we will be joined by our friends from Intelligentsia Coffee Roasters to have a fun and educational time. Intelligentisa's Ellie Matusak, first runner-up in the national US Barista competition will also be on hand and we'll try to get her to make some special beverages.
At 8 pm we there will be live, traditional music from the region performed by Julieta Ugartemendia of Tangueros De Ley.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Erlin's House, a family adopted by Jennie and others who taught in the Honduran coffee growing region where Erlin and his family live.
Register early for the coffee tasting because space is limited. Or, just come to enjoy live music, photography from Guatemala and Honduras, and prizes. All ages welcome. See you here!
